Happy Monday! It’s January 20th, here are last nights confessions. I hope one inspires you, or is something that you find relatable.

The question was, “what are your 2025 goals?”

-my goal is to run a 17 on a standard on the new horse I’m riding this year

-To have 6 planned date nights this year. Exercise 4-5 times per week. To save all my OT money for the year

-Learn to enjoy the journey going to find rodeos for the first time

-I want to be able to get on my horse from the ground!

-To get back on a horse. Gained 100lbs and quit riding. Always talked about wanting to ride again. Lost 50lbs, and even still being larger than before- I just need to do it. Nervous about being judged for my size as I won’t be the same agile competitive rider I was before and I know that. But will people expect that? I’m scared. But 2025 is the year I just do it. For me.

-To finally stop being so afraid to actually run my horse (who is amazing by the way and so safe) and to just have fun! I am actually participating in a rodeo season this year to get my confidence and my fun back in my life. I am older (in my 60's) so for me it is time to just let it rip! I don't want to be "that person" at every race always so nervous because "I might fall or my horse might trip and fall!" I know how to ride and a few life things happened to make me afraid so I am just relearning how to enjoy it again. I figured go big or go home. There is no looking back from 2025 and saying "I wish I had..." so I am just forging ahead and going to be the best version of myself I can be! No more being scared, nervous, forgetting how to ride and just plain petrified for me! The years are flying by and my number is getting bigger and bigger in my age (yikes!) so I am taking advantage of my new found confidence!
Thanks for listening and I hope that I have helped someone else dealing with this. When we do it together, we do it better!

- Get myself stronger physically and mentally and focus on improving my riding. Get my horses in the best shape possible and hit the rodeo trail.

-Eat healthy, workout, make short go at national high school rodeo finals, win a pro rodeo, make smooth consistent runs

-I have lots of goals but the biggest ones are: to find the joy in my horses again (riding bareback and playing with tackless work)
Buy a house and fill it with friends and stories
Get better at competing out of sheer stubbornness and spite.

-Get my permit and fill it this year!! As well as qualifying for nationals! Barrels and breakaway !! love this idea of the confessions!!

-My main goal for 2025 is to be a great human. To inspire others to find the good in all situations and be thankful for everything that’s handed to me, good or bad. Both in the arena and out… I want to maintain the mantra “no bad runs” in the arena and be the best cheering squad for EVERYONE outside of the arena. I want to be the change and inspire it in others.

-My goals this year is to try and make WRA finals with my daughter. I would love to hit those big barrel events again and this year focus more on riding quiet and efficient and let the speed take care of itself. Cannot wait for 2025!

-spend less, save as much as possible to reduce my debt before having a baby this year. Big scary goals and things happening over here LOL

-Ride my horses like they deserve!

-buy my membership and commit to rodeo along with finally start our IVF journey with the funds we have slowly have been able to save for it.

-My goal this year is to get back to feeling like myself, regain some independence and hopefully gain some more friends as I venture out to more jackpots and rodeos by myself. The last 8 years, I have been focusing on raising my son and being a wife. Unintentionally I have always felt like I have taken a back seat to my husband when it comes to rodeos. Now that my son is older, I think it’s important that he see his mom also have independence and interests outside of the “home” life.

-Just ride my horses and enjoy having them instead of worrying if I'm doing enough to win.

-Goal 1) ride with multi disciplines in my area to improve my riding. Reiners and English coaches are close to me. It’ll all help with better horsemanship. Also, get stronger physically.
Goal 2) sold my dream horse and now I’m struggling to find a suitable prospect; so shopping for the right fit! in the meantime, I will improve my jockeying skills with goal 1.
Goal 3) working with a counsellor with my son to have tools to help him succeed in life and help me to keep my expectations in check while managing a career, motherhood, marriage and horses!
Goal 4) long term (about 4 years), go to CPRA rodeos and qualify in barrel racing for the CFR.

-Get back in the game. I have been dedicating my life and my money to hsr and my kids’ goals for way too long. They are now off to college and I am going to play again!

-my goal for 2025 is to find harmony with my body and self-image. eating whole foods, working out consistently, and self care are top priorities this year :)

- I am going to win some jackpots and place in the top 15 at CPRA rodeos!

-Win money in LRA rodeos, and have my futurity horse running solid.

-Lose 20 pounds. Start working again. Get my life together.

-2025 goal, be more consistent with myself instead of getting distracted with achievements or the little things that bum me down

-Grow my business! Being accepted as a vendor for the Ponoka Stampede Trade Show was a huge step towards this already!

-Try club Pilates, get my kids doing a few regular chores without telling them to, finish painting the trim in my house, plan a pedal drink tour on Whyte with friends, sell some junk and buy a kayak, camp at Waterton PP, make 5 new recipes, purge and organize our two sheds.

-My goal is to find my passion again barrel racing after not racing for 3 years. I Bought a new horse that im learning to ride.
Hoping to one day get my pro card.
Working on getting back into shape after having my first child first. Baby steps.
Most importantly to enjoy the process.
Also found a passion in taking lots of clinics. I found you can never know enough when it comes to riding , racing and horses.

-I want to fill my permit this year after attempting the past few years.

-Go qualify for a finals!
