2021 Wrangler NFR Round 4

Ardrossan, Alberta - This year at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, the ground is being hand raked after every run, which has given us safe fast runs each night, making it a real horse race! Wenda Johnson wins the fourth round on 5 year old, Steal Money aka Moe who is by First Moonflash (SI-122), and out of Im Chica Stoli (Stoli). Johnson has won over $55,000 thus far in the finals.

Hailey Kinsel remains in the number one spot, Dona Kay Rule has moved into second, Amanda Welsh to third, and Jordon Briggs to fourth. In the average race, Stevi Hillman is first, Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi second, Amanda Welsh third.

In the Bareback Riding, RC Landingham and Kaycee Feild would split the round win with 87.5 point rides. This is go-round win number 25 for Kaycee Feild, who sits number one in the World and second in the average. Jess Pope is number two in the standings and first in the average. A point and a half separated the top 6 in Round four, where Cole Franks, Cole Reiner, Garrett Shadbolt and Richmond Champion all marked an 86. Manitoba cowboy, Orin Larsen rode for 85.0 and ended up just out of the money.

In the steer wrestling it was Will Lummus and Riley Duvall splitting the win with a 3.9 second run. Duvall sits third in the world and first in the average. Jacob Talley still sits in first position in the standings, but is 13th in the average race. Curtis Cassidy picks up his second cheque of the week, splitting 5/6th with Rowdy Parrot with a 4.7. Scott Guenthner was a 5.0 and out of the money.

Team ropers, Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira have placed in all four rounds, and won the round tonight with a 4.1 second run. Rhen Richard and Canadian, Jeremy Buhler pulled a 4th place cheque with a 4.7.

Wild Wade Sundell won the round on Bet The Ranch of Powder River Rodeo with 89.5 points. Zeke Thurson had a great ride on a strong horse for 88.5 points and a third place finish aboard Wayne Volds, Alberta Moon. Dawson Hay was just out of the money with his 84.0 point ride. Ben Anderson cannot catch a break at his first finals, tonight he missed the mark out. Layton Green and Kolby Wanchuk also with no scores.

The 2020 World Champion, Shad Mayfield won the round with a 7.6 and a slight bobble. Weston Hughes caught the calfs body, he pulled the rope off, still flanked the calf and got a time of 15.9. Hunter Herrin had to throw his second rope to catch his calf to be a 20.4. Shane Hanchey remains number one in the world and third in the average.

Only two cowboys rode in round four of the Wrangler NFR in the Bull Riding. It was Dustin Boquet with his first qualified ride of the finals on Hou’s Bad News of Bridwells, and Montana man, Parker Breding on Doctor X from Universal Pro Rodeo. Breding has covered four bulls in four rounds including two go-round wins. He now sits third in the standings and first in the average.

Sage Kimzey was taken to Justin Sports Medicine after a head knock with his bull. JB Mauney was bucked off again in round found of his first Wrangler NFR.

Round number five starts December 6th at 5:45PM MST.
