BLACKFALDS, Alberta - This summer at Dodge City, Kansas Pro Rodeo Hailey Kinsel and DM Sissy Hayday set a new record on a WPRA standard pattern, with a 16.63. Fast forward to round number eight of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Arlington, Texas the dynamic duo broke their own record with a flawless 16.56. Often Hailey and Sis can run a stride by the first and still win the round. Tonight they tightened up their first barrel, coming out of it perfectly, and a person just KNEW it was going to be fast. They have won four rounds and placed second in one as we head into round number nine. When they crossed the line, you could hear barrel racers screaming across North America. It is rumoured by Emily Gethke that NASA is currently analyzing Sisters DNA to determine what ingredients are missing from jet fuel to get into the next galaxy.

Round 7 winner Emily Beisel and her horse Namgis D 33 aka Chongo beat their personal best time by a tenth of a second, stopping the clock 16.75 even with Emily reaching to save her first barrel. They are on fire! Jill Wilson finished with a solid 17.10, and Lisa Lockhart and Rosa were a 17.15 for fourth. Having never won a world title, Lisa also broke the Women’s Professional Rodeo Associations earnings record this week, now over the $3 million dollar mark. Jessica Routier ran a 17.22 for fifth, Jimmie Smith and Shelley Morgan split sixth with a 17.36.

The eliminator pen on Canadian night proved tough for the cowboys in the bareback riding. Six of the fifteen received no score and even a 77 was able to catch a cheque. Jess Pope won the round on Xplosive Skies from Calgary Stampede with 89.0 points on Canada Night. Orin Larsen split a third/fourth place cheque with Tanner Aus for 85. The boys were beat out by Tim O’Connell by just a half point.

Donalda, Alberta cowboy Curtis Cassidy received a time of 14.1 after having hell with another steer. His great horse, Tyson helped Blake Knowles win the round with a 3.6.

Winning the team roping tonight was Colby Lovell and Paul Eaves with a 4.3. Levi Simpson and Shay Carroll split third with Nelson Wyatt and Levi Lord with a 4.7. Kolton Schmidt and Hunter Koch finished in the crying hole with no cheque for their 9.5 effort.

In the saddle bronc Ryder Wright won the round with an 88, Rusty Wright second with an 86.5, and Zeke Thurston finished third alongside the other brother, Stetson Wright with 86.0 points.

This is tie-down roper, Westyn Hughes first WNFR and to win a round is just the icing on the cake. He tied his calf in 7.4 seconds.

Just two cowboys stayed on for eight in the bull riding tonight. Roscoe Jacboe on Magic Poison of Frontier Rodeo for 89.5 and Jeff Askey aboard Stretch for 87.5. Ty Wallace sits in the number one position in the standings and second in the average.

Tyler Binghams wife, Jerica gave fans an update on Tylers state as he was stepped on in round seven. He has suffered broken ribs, sternum and left clavicle, has a hematoma under his sternum, and his lungs and heart are bruised. His head and stomach CT came back normal, and she said, “Tyler is already cracking jokes and coming back to himself.”

Round number nine starts December 11th, at 6:45PM CT.
