What is it that makes your horse so special to you?
They are my friends. RODEO is not more important than them. They come first.
What has been your most memorable run in 2024, and what made it memorable for you?
Calgary Stampede and all the Stampede does for ALL the contestants and horses. From seasoned veterans to first time star gazers, everyone has a chance. And for that, Calgary is my number one.
What was different about your rodeo season this year compared to last year or other seasons?
This year was my first year to experience the differences of Canadian rodeos vs PRCA rodeos.
What is the best advice you’d give to readers, about horses and or competing?
Don't let the horse you have today keep you from being the rider you can be tomorrow.
Favourite Canadian rodeo this year, and why?
Calgary Stampede, no explanation needed! It's just the best.
Which of the other CFR Qualifiers horses would you swing a leg over if given the chance and why?
Lynette's horse, Cowboy because he is simply the best. Period.
What can you or your horse not live without on the road?
Show Mancey needs his APPLES.
Mental game; how do you stay mentally strong in the rodeo game, with many ups and downs?
I have learned to be happy with myself. Rodeo is not the be all end all.
Spending time with my Show Mance always makes me happy inside and out, and that's all I need.
Tell the readers something good that happened to you this season, other than placing at, or winning a rodeo.
I learned to appreciate the PRCA judging program, and how the WPRA and PRCA have worked together and developed great leadership, rules, rulebooks and professionalism.
Do you have any up and coming prospects, and or, what do you look for in a prospect that you could share a little about with readers?
I look for a horse that is big and sharp. One that is not dumb or dull. A fire in his eye and that look of eagles.
If you don't know what this all means, then you haven't seen the right horse. Because when you do, that horse is FIRE, and will take you to a new height! I have only found two or three like this; Hoosier Fame and JSYK IM FAMOUS. They both were the most amazing athletes. I feel that Admire My Fame has this all well. And well Show Mance, he is my baby sloth.
What was one thing a committee did this year that you appreciated the most?
The arena facility director at Grand Prairie. She was just so KIND, and nice. Kindness is free, and she was by far the kindest and nicest of all the people we had met.
