September 8, 2021 | Red Deer, AB — The Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) and Westerner Park are excited to announce that the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) is set to go in Red Deer November 3-7! It’s the 47th anniversary of the excellence and quality of experience that fans and competitors have come to expect from the Canadian finals.

CFR is a national championship rodeo that consistently attracts the best contestants and stock in the country. In 2018, Red Deer was chosen as the new home of CFR for the next 10 years. Albertans, Canadians, and international visitors will gather to watch over 120 of the world’s best rodeo athletes compete in the final event of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association season. With 71,000+ rodeo goers attending the seven performances in 2019, this six-day event contributes an economic impact of over $30 million to our local community.

At the CFR, all major pro-rodeo events will take place during every performance including Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding. As well, fans will enjoy Junior Steer Riding, Novice Saddle and Bareback Riding and for the first time ever, Breakaway Roping during select performances.

“This is our opportunity to come together again as a rodeo community to celebrate the best in our sport,” says Jeff Robson, General Manager, CPRA. “The last couple of years were a challenge, but in true cowboy fashion, we have rebounded, and look forward to an amazing CFR47.”

Mike Olesen, Chief Executive Officer, Westerner Park, concurs, “Our staff, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and supporters are all working together to put on this world-class event. In addition to the main rodeo performances, people can also get in the spirit through the cabaret, concerts, trade show, plus other onsite and community events.”
