BLACKFALDS, Alberta - Heading into round number four, Hailey Kinsel and Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi were about $2,000 apart in the world standings.

Eighth on the ground, Pozzi-Tonozzi and Katniss came in just after the tractor running a gritty 17.13. Hailey and Sis looking for their third-straight world title, were second after the tractor, and would win it with a 17.09. Brittney and Hailey continue to battle it out for the 2020 World Champion title. Brittany is sitting second in the aggregate and Kinsel first, with barely $8k between them. It’ll be a fight to the end.

Barrel racing enthusiasts were excited to see that Lisa Lockhart let Rosa take the night off after winning round number three, and ran Treis Movitas (Treis Seis x Blazin Jetolena mare) stopping the clock at 17.33, finishing sixth in the round. Very tight in the bottom half of the placings as 5th, 6th, 7th were just one hundredth of a second apart.

An injured Tim O’Connell won the bareback riding with a 90.5 aboard Fettig Rodeo’s, Pop A Top. Orin Larsen cannot catch a break, finishing at the bottom of the pack with an 80.0 point ride.

In the steer wrestling, stopping the clock at 3.9 seconds was Jacob Talley, the fastest time this week. This win moves the cowboy into the number one spot in the world, bumping Matt Reeves to second position. Curtis Cassidy finished out of the money with his 4.9 run. Cassidys horse Tyson is showing everyone why he won PRCA Steer Wrestling Horse of the Year, by working so well for every guy who makes a run on him.

Winning by 6/10ths of a second in the team roping was Brenten Hall and Chase Tryan with a 4.2. Levi Simpson and Shay Dixon Carroll pick up a cheque for 5/6 splitting with Chad Masters and Wesley Thorp for their 4.9 second effort. Levi is the only Canadian with more than one cheque at this point of the finals. Kolton Schmidt and Hunter Koch can’t seem to catch a break, receiving another no time in round four.

In the bronc riding, Ryder Wright takes the round, scoring 89.5 points on Vold Rodeos, Sun Glow. Zeke Thurston got a little behind his horse, scoring a 72.5.

Number one ranked cowboy at the finals, Shad ‘Money’ Mayfield, receives yet another no time, but still leads the pack of tie-down ropers by a mile. Winning the round tonight was Adam Gray with a 7.8 second run.

Wrapping it up with the bull riding, Ty Wallace rode re-ride bull, Lipps from Hi Lo ProRodeo for 89.5 points to win the round. Colten Fritzlans rope blew out but he was able to hold on to the tail end to finish his ride, receiving an 85.5 for his efforts, finishing fourth. Sage Kimzey finished sixth with an 81.5 point ride. Kimzey stays 5th in the world standings and is 5th in the aggregate.
